The Secret That Will Allow Your Internet Based Business To Flourish In A Saturated Market
Sunday, July 9th, 2006“But the market is too saturated!”
“The audience is too small and a lot of online businessmen are already operating in its midst!”
“There’s no way I can ever profit from such a small market that has millions of competition!”
How many times have you heard internet marketers screaming those words before while they turn away from a market they feel can never be profitable? Perhaps you’re even one such online marketer who has given up on a prospective market because the supply is simply larger than the demand?
But here’s a novel thought: you can make it big in a market that is already loaded with competitors.
Let’s put it this way. The fact that so many online businessmen are vying for a share in such a market only means one thing: that there is money in that field. People who comprise the said market are willing to spend, something that fellow internet marketers have realized and are now capitalizing on.
Let’s take a look at the “home business” market. You see millions upon millions of internet marketers focusing on this field. But you have also heard a lot of success stories of people who have made it big by concentrating on such a market. How did they succeed when the said market is supposed to be saturated?
Do you want to know their secret?
It’s called a USP, an abbreviation for unique selling proposition.
Basically, a USP is a novel offer, one that only your business can provide, that you will present to the market. If your USP proves to be the most beneficial for the members of the said market, they will buy from you, even if there are millions of other businessmen selling the exact same thing you are offering.
USP is employed by the big time affiliates of today’s generation. Often, you see major campaigns from one of the big guns in internet marketing. We’re talking about $1,000 packages, even $2,000 ones on certain occasions. Usually, affiliates earn 50% for each sale they will generate. Hence, such campaigns attract the attention of thousands of affiliates, and you’d have thousands of businessmen selling the exact same package.
If you’re one of those businessmen, how will you be able to make your package stand out from the rest?
This is where the USP comes to play. By conceptualizing and implementing your own USP, you’d be able to make your audience say “hey! Let’s buy from him because he’s offering us the best value for our money!”
The USP, in a way, is giving your target market something more than they will get from other online marketers who are selling the same products you are selling. As with our above example, as an affiliate you stand to gain 50% of $1,000 or $2,000. That’s $500 or $1,000… per sale! You can spend your expected earnings to give your audience something that other marketers won’t be able to provide. Purchase PLR products and throw them in the package. Tell your market that if they will buy from you, they will get “this and that” for free.
Of course, your success will depend on the quality of the “this and that” you will throw into the mix, but the USP dictates that you formulate the best possible offer for your prospects.
Here are some great ideas which can form the basis of your USP:
* bonuses that your competitors will not offer;
* cash rebates which will be taken from the commission you will receive per sale;
* discounts for your future packages;
* subscription to a membership website;
* subscription to an eCourse you may be offering.
A USP is your main weapon if you wish to flourish in a market filled with competition. Use it well, and you’ll realize that there’s no such thing as a market that’s too saturated for profit.

Top Homebased Business Idea - 6 Search Engine Optimization Techniques
Monday, June 19th, 2006Top Homebased Business Idea
Search engine optimization is important for getting a higher ranking on search engines. Nevertheless, it is a tough job and can be costly if you hand it to search engine optimization companies to take care of your website for you.
Some large companies pay hundreds of thousands of dollars just to get their websites to rank higher in the large search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Of course, you can definitely choose to do it all by yourself – which is great by optimizing these 6 things on your website:
1. Title Tag
The title tag is the most powerful on-site search engine optimization you have, so use it creatively. What you place in the title tag should only be exact keywords you used for the web page that you are trying to optimize. Every single web page should have its own title tag.
2. Alt Tag
The Alt tag is the texts for a picture. When you roll-over your mouse onto a picture and it shows some texts, you’re seeing an alt tag. You should put your main keywords in the alt tags but don’t abuse it or you might be caught by the intelligent search engine indexing spiders and cause a big drop in your rankings instead.
3. Link Popularity
Link popularity is the most important search engine optimization technique you should emphasize on. You need to request links constantly to increase your page rank as well as link popularity – you also increase traffic this way. Make sure you have the correct anchor text from your link partners.
When your website popularity increases, many people will want to exchange links with you. Make sure your potential link partners will not be having a website that competes with you, and never exchange links with link farms(websites with only links, without content).
4. Keyword Density
This optimization factor is rather important. To improve your keyword density, you should use the appropriate keywords once in the title tag, once in the heading tag, once in bold text, and try to get a keyword density of more than 20% - of course, without resulting in your contents causing confusion just because it doesn’t sound right.
5. Website Design
More and more people are getting onto the approach of using flash, movies, and that really cause index spiders(or robots) to frown as they don’t understand them. You need more contents which outweighs HTML, use less java scripts if you can choose not to.
6. Keywords Placing
You should include one keyword each at the top and the bottom of your web page. Other than that, it is most advisable to include one of them at the first and last sentence of your content.
